Officially commissioned by IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming platform (funded by advertising), a little over a year ago, the Leverage revival is now unveiling with a trailer for less than a year. month and a half of its launch, announced for July 9, 2021.
Completed in 2012, Leverage returns under the impetus of Dean Devlin (original creators are advertised as consultants), but it won’t be the same. Timothy Hutton, who played team leader Nate Ford, is not part of this revival. This is how Noah Wyle becomes the headliner – and he will take the opportunity to direct two of the thirteen episodes ordered.
Entitled Leverage: Redemption, this sequel takes place eight years after the end of the original series. Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman), Parker (Beth Riesgraf), Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), and Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge) saw the world changed. The rich and powerful are freer than ever to take whatever they want without consequence. The team, therefore, returns to service with the addition of Harry Wilson (Noah Wyle), a business lawyer who realized he was on the wrong side of the fence and is now looking for redemption, but also with Breanna Casey (Aleyse Shannon), Hardison’s sister.
This season 1 of Leverage: Redemption will begin with 8 episodes which will all be uploaded in July on IMDb TV, then with 8 more which are now announced for this fall.
Before that, you can revisit (or simply discover) the original Leverage, since all seasons are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
