Uploaded almost a year ago to the US platform Amazon Prime Video, Season 3 of Absentia will also be the last of the series. It is thus officially over and will therefore not return for a season 4.
It was Stana Katic, interpreter of Emily Byrne, who announced it on Twitter, revealing that the story had been developed over three seasons. It turns out that the creative team did consider exploring the possibility of continuing for a while, but that will not happen. The series has the end she had to have.
As a reminder, Absentia is a creation by Gaia Violo and Matt Cirulnick that begins with FBI agent Emily Byrne (Katic) who disappeared without a trace while hunting a serial killer in Boston. Emily wakes up six years later in a mysterious cabin without a memory of what happened to her. When she returns to her family, she discovers that her husband has rebuilt a life with another woman who raised her son in this way. It doesn’t take long for her to be involved in a new series of murders, either.
The cast of Absentia consists of Stana Katic, Patrick Heusinger, Neil Jackson, Matthew Le Nevez, Natasha Little, Paul Freeman, and Patrick McAuley, as well as Geoff Bell and Josette Simon.
In France, all of the Absentia was broadcast on Altice Studio, the first two seasons are currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
