WHAT TO REMEMBER FROM THE EPISODE?
When details of Coach Bombay’s history are revealed, things quickly spiral out of control, causing the NCAA to intervene. Alex saves the day, which shows the team that she has always been the right choice for the coach. They ask her to return to her old job, and, of course, she accepts!
It worked out much better for Alex to take over as coach of the Don’t Bother. The fact that she could not accompany the team to the United States was a necessary plot point that allowed Evan and the team to distance themselves from their parents to fully benefit from their experience. The fact that the Bombay coach was told that he was not allowed to coach and that he was jeopardizing the team’s chances of participating in the competition allowed Alex to regain his place, thus preparing for what promises to be a big series finale next week.
