Sailor Moon Eternal Movie has its release date officially set on Netflix worldwide on Thursday, June 3. While it was initially released as a first and second part, much like the Japanese theatrical release model where they were released on two separate dates.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE FILM?
For fans of the original Sailor Moon series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie is an adaptation of the Dream story that took place in the manga. The Dream Arc was the central plot of Sailor Moon SuperS, the fourth season of the 1990s anime series.
Netflix describes the film as taking place in April, during the century’s total solar eclipse, but that period of peace is cut short by the arrival in Tokyo of the Dead Moon Circus. They seek to possess the legendary Silver Crystal while invading Earth with Lemures, evil beings with nightmares.
But as the new villains become the latest threat to the Guardians Sailor, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus who is looking for a chosen maiden who can finally break the seal of the Gold Crystal. While this Movie marks the fourth season of Sailor Moon CrystalI it seems to be setting up a potential sequel as well, given Usagi’s eternal transformation. This is the Stars arc of the manga, which served as the backdrop for Sailor Moon’s fifth and final season in 1996-97.
