Mary Lane is revealed to be the mother of Ruby Lane, the girl who killed several of her friends before committing suicide in 1966. To prevent him from embarking on a series of murders, Mary first attempts to kill him, but it fails and is then arrested.
Cindy first thinks that Mary attacked Tommy because she was on drugs and goes into the hospital wing to find them. He and Tommy find the notebook in which Mary wrote down all of her findings of the witch. Soon Alice and her boyfriend Arnie arrive, and they take the notebook and unmarked medicine Cindy found and follow the map Mary drew to the witch’s house. EXPLANATION OF THE END OF PART 2 OF FEAR STREET 1978
Cindy and Alice are forced into hiding for their lives. They manage to avoid her, but Tommy escapes and begins his madness, killing several campers while Cindy and Alice manage to locate Sarah Proud’s hand through the diary and escape the den with unwitting help. by Ziggy. With hand in hand, and the location of her buried body known to them, Cindy, Alice, and Ziggy believe they finally have all the tools to lift the curse and save Shadyside for good but before they can. Doing so, Alice is killed and Cindy and Ziggy find the reanimated bodies of the former Shadyside killers in pursuit of them.
Cindy and Ziggy both appear to have been killed, but Ziggy is successfully revived. Constance informs Deena and Josh that she is Ziggy and that no one believed her about the curse, not even Nick Goode, with whom she had started a relationship during the camp and who became the Sheriff of Shadyside. After hearing the story, Deena refuses to accept Constance’s belief that the curse can never be stopped informing her that they have found Sarah Proud’s body and that if they move her hand, they can finally bring them together.
This is exactly what Deena does, digging up the hand in the very spot where it was buried in 1978 and bringing it to Sarah Fier’s grave. However, when she reunites the body and the hand, all does not go as planned: a strange series of hallucinatory images begin and Deena seems to wake up in 1666, answering the name of Sarah Fier, which perfectly prepares the events of the Last episode.
The curse was kept alive through human intervention. In the first part, we see a person in a witch’s outfit in front of the altar before Sam’s name appears on the stone. The next movie might also reveal that Shadyside’s bad luck is closely tied to Sunnyvale’s prosperity by magical means. And to free Shadyside from the curse, Deena and the others may need to remove the aforementioned enchantments first.
