Like many movies, including Without a Sound 2 by Blunt, Jungle Cruise has experienced production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Disney plans to finally release this family adventure movie in theaters!
Jungle Cruise centers around the character of Frank Johnson, a paddle steamer captain, and Blunt’s character, Dr. Lily Houghton, a British scientist. The two set off on the adventure of a lifetime, in search of the legendary tree of life.
Houghton is determined to use the powers of the tree to advance modern medicine, while Frank is only part of the wild adventure. The movie also stars Jack Whitehall as McGregor, Houghton’s brother, who is aboard this often dangerous journey. WHAT RELEASE DATE FOR JUNGLE CRUISE 2?
In a recent interview, Dwayne Johnson believes in the project so much that he’s already ready for a sequel to Jungle Cruise. Dwayne Johnson began by talking about Blunt’s entry into his circle of regular collaborators, noting that he had previously discussed the release of Jungle Cruise 2. Dwayne Johnson has already chosen Blunt to star in an unannounced film that it produces, thus clearly demonstrating that the chemistry between the two giants. A sequel is therefore quite possible and has a good chance of arriving if the first movie is a success!
With the first Jungle Cruise being released in late July 2021, and Johnson and Blunt both engaged in other movies at the moment, the earliest we can hope to see a release date for Jungle Cruise 2 would be 2023.
Filming for the first movie began in May 2018 and ended several months later, with a long and complex post-production period thanks to the level of CGI.
With that in mind, and setting aside delays due to the pandemic, if a new movie were announced in mid-2021, we might expect filming to begin in early 2022 and Jungle Cruise. 2 kinds for 2023.
