Old isn’t overly violent or scary, but he is full of suspense. The Eastrail 177 trilogy, which comprises Unbreakable, Split, and Glass, is one of Shyamalan’s most well-known works, therefore there is precedent for the director to develop sequels to his original stories. WHAT RELEASE DATE FOR OLD 2?
Old was released in theaters on July 21, 2021! As for the likelihood of the film receiving a sequel, the odds seem very low. First of all, even though the film leaves a lot to the imagination of the public, it reveals the true nature of the beach and what is going on there.
That’s enough for audiences to find their own answers to some of the open-ended questions, and perhaps that’s the director’s intention. Likewise, the graphic novel on which the film is loosely based is a stand-alone story and has no sequel. While in Hollywood we never say anything, the chances of a sequel to Old happening are slim at best. However, by a stroke of luck, if Old 2 does see the light of day then its release date should be set for 2023.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM OLD’S SUITE?
Old’s ending reveals that the time frame was used by a pharmaceutical company to study the effects of new drugs on people like Prisca and Guy, who all suffered from existing diseases like cancer or epilepsy. Old 2 could either serve as a prequel further detailing the foundation of the station.
Either take place after the events of the first film in a continuation of the disturbing events of the film with different characters. Old ends with rescuing the remaining tourists and confirming the end of the experience, making it difficult for Old 2 to bring the same mystery and suspense.
