The young vigilante Stargirl’s fight is far from over. The series has indeed already been renewed for a season 3. As for season 2, it will soon begin. The launch is indeed scheduled on the American channel The CW for Tuesday, August 10,2021.
Who is Stargirl?
Creation at DC of Geoff Johns also showrunner on the series, Stargirl follows the young Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) who discovers one day that her father-in-law (Luke Wilson) is hiding a mysterious scepter with strange powers. The latter reveals to him that he is S.T.R.I.P.E., a member of the Justice Society of America (JSA) and sidekick of Starman who has been assigned to watch over the scepter. This powerful artifact appears to have chosen Courtney as the new owner who then decides to become Stargirl and to give body to the JSA.
Courtney is, therefore, determined to embrace her destiny, continuing her superhero fight with her friends, and will then have to face in season 2 the mysterious Eclipso (played by Nick E. Tarabay). She may find in Jennie (Ysa Penarejo), the daughter of Green Lantern Alan Scott, a new ally. And for fans of The Flash, note that John Wesley Shipp is reprising the role of Jay Garrick for episode 9 of this season (which will therefore offer flashbacks).
The cast of Stargirl, therefore, brings together Brec Bassinger, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Meg DeLacy, Amy Smart, Luke Wilson, Hunter Sansone, and Nick Tarabay.
Joel McHale (Starman), Mark Ashworth (Shining Knight), Joy Osmanski (Tigress) are also back, and they are joined by Neil Hopkins (Sportsmaster), John Wesley Shipp (Jay Garrick), Jonathan Cake (The Shade), Ysa Penarejo (Jennie), Alkoya Brunson or Jim Gaffigan (who lends his voice to Thunderbolt).
