After working as a surgeon and then an MI-5 agent, Sandra Oh becomes head of a university department in the comedy The Chair, which is revealed with a trailer and Netflix will distribute the film on August 20.
Series consisting of 6 episodes of 30 minutes, The Chair (or Director in France) is therefore interested in Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim (Sandra Oh) who heads the Department of English at the prestigious American University of Pembroke.
The first woman to hold this position and a person of color (a rare occurrence among the teaching staff of this university), Ji-Yoon will have to take up several new challenges.
Actress Amanda Peet (Dirty John: Betty Broderick) is the showrunner of the series on which she naturally also serves as an executive producer alongside David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The Chair is the first series produced by the Game of Thrones duo since they signed their big contract with Netflix (optionally, Amanda Peet is married to David Benioff).
