New Spanish original series broadcast on Atresplayer Premium in its country, The Cook of Castamar (La cocinera de Castamar in the original version) makes its debut in France on Netflix, which has just put the first season online.
Based on the novel by Fernando J. Múñez and scripted by Tatiana Rodríguez, The Cook of Castamar takes us to the Madrid of 1720 where a talented cook catches the attention of a widowed duke who reclaims his place in aristocratic society.
The story begins with the Duke of Castamar (Roberto Enríquez) who, almost two years after a tragic loss, throws a big party. Despite her agoraphobia, Clara Belmonte (Michelle Jenner) must prove herself in her new job as a cook.
