A week before its launch on the English channel Channel 4, season 2 of the drama This Way Up makes its debut in the US market, as it debuts today on the Hulu streaming platform. For France, we do not yet have a date on Canal + Séries.
If you are unfamiliar with this creation by and with Aisling Bea, This Way Up immerses us in the tormented daily life of a woman trying to get her life back on track after a nervous breakdown. More specifically, Season 1 is about Aine (Bea), an Irish immigrant who went to a mental hospital for depression. She tries to rebuild her existence, between her illness, her job as a language teacher, and her family. A daily struggle, which is not done without difficulty, but always with derision.
At the start of Season 2, Aine leaves the rehab behind and decides to live more fully, which is not necessarily the safest thing for her. For starters, she must first and foremost make decisions about her relationship with Richard (Tobias Menzies), her boss. For her part, her sister Shona wonders about her feelings for Charlotte (Indira Varma), her professional partner, and her future marriage to Vish (Aasif Mandvi).
Season 2 of This Way Up consists of 6 episodes that feature Aisling Bea, Tobias Menzies, Aasif Mandvi, Sharon Horgan, Indira Varma, and Kadiff Kirwan.
