Nothing can stop the famous Snowfall! Once again, Snowpiercer lands a renewal well ahead of the broadcast. With the conclusion of filming for Season 3, the order for Season 4 was made official. TNT thus allows the journey of humanity’s last survivors to continue. As a reminder, the series is available on Netflix.
Following the restructuring of the Warner group, Snowpiercer’s debut was not easy, but the series ended up arriving on the cable channel TNT and clearly found its audience, which was confirmed with season 2 reaching a total. of 21 million spectators (linear and digital broadcasting in Live + 7 combined).
What is Snowpiercer about?
If you’re not familiar with Snowpiercer, this is a new adaptation of the comic Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, which has already been screened in theaters by Korean Bong Joon-ho. The story takes place in the future, beginning 7 years after the earth entered a new ice age. The last survivors of humanity live on a constantly moving train. The occupants of the latter are separated into classes and, although Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) who belongs to the first class, and is the voice of the train, is fascinated by those at the bottom of the ladder, these must be held in their place. A rebellion led by Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) then takes shape and the whole system is called into question (read our review of season 1).
In season 2, Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) returned to the Snowpiercer with the help train he had built. A new power war begins between Wilford and Layton, as Melanie reunites with her daughter (Rowan Blanchard) who was on the other train, putting her in an even more complicated situation than before.
Season 3 will resume with Layton now with his team at the helm of a pirate train in search of Melanie and a possible place warm enough to restart from scratch. Aboard the Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford reinforces his position of power, but Layton’s allies are still aboard and continue the fight.
