EXPLANATION OF THE END OF JUNGLE CRUISE!
Lily and Frank discover the location of the Tears of the Moon at the end of Jungle Cruise, activating a contraption that drains a portion of the Amazon River. and reveals a cave where the tree is located. Regrettably, Prince Joachim has kidnapped Lily’s brother, forcing him to reveal the tree’s location.
Frank, Lily, Joachim’s Germans, and the Spaniards all converge on the cave, hoping to retrieve the tree’s petals. After discovering a gemstone inside the arrowhead, Lily and Frank place it in a device that allows the Tears of the Moon to bloom.
However, the tree can only bloom under the blood moon, and it wilts quickly, leaving Lily alone to grasp an unblemished petal. Eventually, McGregor kills Joachim and Frank blocks the water from the river, stopping the Cursed Conquistadors and turning them to stone. However, in a previous twist, The Rock’s Frank Wolff revealed he was also one of the Conquistadors.
For this reason, it also turns into stone. Lily uses the petal to save the captain of her riverboat and free him from the curse, turning him into a mortal. She is then rewarded because a moon ray makes another petal bloom.
McGregor appears in a scene at the end, declining an invitation to the Royal Society explorers and rejecting them as they once rudely rejected him and his sister. He notes that his sister is now a professor at Cambridge, hinting that Lily brought the petal with her to London and that she rose to fame in her efforts to rid the world of disease.
Lily and Frank developed affections for one other during their Amazon expedition. At the end of Jungle Cruise, it is discovered that the couple is enjoying life in London and are ready to return to a Jungle Cruise sequel.
Jungle Cruise is a romantic comedy wrapped in an Indiana Jones adventure. Among the topics covered is a message about altruism and sharing adventures with others. After Frank sacrifices his chance to be free to stop the Conquistadors, Lily also drops the Tears of the Moon petal to save him.
Lily is rewarded for her selflessness, as she obtains one last petal that she can bring back to England and save others. Thanks to their selflessness, they are free to book as many jungle cruises as they wish.
