See is available on Apple TV +! If you want to know the explanation for the end of Season 1, read on! The original Apple TV + fantasy drama series See is back with Season 2 at last. Jason Momoa’s series debuted with the launch of Apple TV + in November 2019, but the series had been absent since the end of Season 1.
We can thank the COVID-19 pandemic for halting the production of Season 2, which delayed its launch date by eight or nine months. But it’s all a thing of the past and Season 2 has arrived and this time around Momoa is joined by Dave Bautista.
But with such a long wait between seasons, chances are you’ve lost sight of one or more of the show’s plots. If so, we’re here to help. Here’s a recap of where we left Baba Voss, his family, friends, and enemies at the end of Season 1.
EXPLANATION OF THE END OF SEE SEASON 1
At the time of the end of Season 1 of See, the twins found Jerlamarel’s camp after years of searching. He and his other sighted children have moved to a former prison, where he shows them various amenities like a generator, library, and even an armory.
However, neither Voss nor Paris, Alkenny’s shaman, are allowed to follow them, while Kofun is put off by Jerlamarel’s claims to divinity because he can see and intends to rebuild the world for the sighted. Haniwa, on the other hand, wants to believe in their biological father’s intentions.
Meanwhile, Queen Kane is held captive by Tamacti Jun, the wizard general of her army, after she admits to flooding a village to save herself in a previous episode. In the series finale, Jun attempts to convince Maghra to present Queen Kane with the option of abdicating the throne in her favor or dying.
Kane refuses but then appears ready to abdicate when Jun is stabbed by Boots, another of Jerlamarel’s sighted children, while Kane deals the killing blow to him. Kane convinces Maghra to collaborate with her and they turn to the Wizarding Army as joint rulers, which is sure to result in a difficult partnership.
Much of the action in See’s finale centers around Jerlamarel’s intrigue, with Kofun later hearing a conversion between himself and members of the Trivantian tribe – which is led by Voss’s brother, General Edo. Jeralmarel betrays his own children, leaving the tribe to capture Haniwa while imprisoning the enraged Kofun.
When the latter refuses to see his vision of the situation, Jeralmarel’s men take him outside to be executed. Voss arrives in time to save his son and, later, he engages in a violent fight with Jerlamarel in a library. The latter has a gun and is about to win when the lights go out. Voss ends up blocking his head and blinds the so-called prophet in revenge.
Season 1 ends with Kofun, Paris, and Voss meeting in a town, with Voss vowing to save Haniwa. Season 2 production has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Dave Bautista is known to have joined the cast and will play Jason Momoa’s brother of Voss.
