WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR DARK SKIES 2?
Like most horror movies, Dark Skies has received mixed reviews. Nonetheless, over the years Dark Skies has received a rather optimistic response from most horror fans and many would like to see a sequel to the first film. Unfortunately, at this time, no official announcement regarding Black Skies 2 has been made.
If the movie is licensed shortly, we can expect the Dark Skies 2 release date to be set for 2023 or later.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM DARK SKY 2?
Those who have watched the movie before will know that it ends with a major cliffhanger. Jesse, who has been abducted by aliens, tries to get in touch with his family through his younger brother’s walkie-talkie. This final scene from the first movie could very well serve as a jumping-off point for the sequel to the movie, where a lot more revealing about Jesse’s whereabouts could be made.
And as I mentioned before, there’s a scene in the first movie where Edwin Pollard claims there are times when aliens come back and start haunting families again. Moreover, he also claims that aliens are always keeping an eye on him. So, in Dark Skies 2, the aliens could return, this time with the intention of kidnapping Sammy. As a result, it will be the Barrett’s against the aliens once again.
Dark Skies 2 could also be a spin-off in which a whole new family experiences what the Barrett’s have gone through. In this case, J. K. Simmons’ role as an alien expert could be the common thread between the first and second movies. Speaking of the Oscar winner, the upcoming “Dark Skies” movie could also be a prequel entirely focused on J. K. Simmons and depicting his personal experiences with aliens.
