Netflix officially kicks off the Halloween season and the horror movies to go with it, of course! This September 15, Netflix will release the original Nightbooks movie online.
It has been a long time since an original fantasy horror movie was released on Netflix, and we know many of you love this genre.
Between witches, scary counts, flickering lights, all the ingredients are there to remind us of the scary stories that made us shiver when we were little.
THE PAGES OF ANXIOUSNESS: BETWEEN FANTASY AND HORROR
Nightbooks is an adaptation of J.A. White’s book that tells the story of Alex, a little boy with a passion for scary stories. The latter is kidnapped by an evil witch who holds him, prisoner, in his apartment in New York.
There, he goes to meet Yasmin, a young girl in the same situation as him. The latter will teach him that, to stay alive, he will have to tell a new scary story every night. But, will the young boy have enough inspiration to satiate the witch with horror stories?
A SIZE CASTING FOR THE FANTASTIC MOVIE NIGHTBOOKS
In the main roles we find the actors Winslow Fegley (Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, Come Play, Fast Layne) who plays young Alex, the witch is played by Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) and young Yasmin is played by Lidya Jewett (Grey’s Anatomy, Good Girls, Feel The Beat).
The fantasy movie is written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis and directed by David Yarovesky (Brightburn).
