Ozark’s fourth season remains shrouded in mystery and fans are waiting for more. However, one of the directors of the Netflix series, Amanda Marsalis, has shared important information about the progress of production.
The release date for the fourth season of Ozark remains a secret, as are spoilers regarding the final season of the Netflix drama. This is why fans are desperate for more information on the new season, which promises to be an explosive encounter between Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) and their enemies.
Ozark Season 4: Director provides production update as filming draws to a close
Director Amanda Marsalis has revealed that while filming is underway, only one episode remains and production is getting closer and closer to the end.
The filming of Ozark, like so many other productions around the world, felt the impact of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Bateman, Linney, and actors like Julia Garner (who plays Ruth Langmore) and Skylar Gaertner (Jonah Byrde) followed strict protocols to ensure Ozark fans a memorable series finale.
And it wasn’t just in front of the camera that the Ozark team worked hard, as Marsalis shared a new update on Instagram, where he provided some interesting details about the show’s near future.
“On the @ozark set. I’m almost done with all 4 episodes that I’m grateful to be directing this season. There’s one episode left after that for the cast and crew. “
With just one more episode in the pipeline, fans are no doubt hoping that a release date will be announced as well. But in the meantime, Netflix is launching its first global fan event, called Tulum, which will be streaming on September 25,2021.

The live broadcast event will see more than 145 stars and creators come together for a day of first impressions and exclusives on their respective shows. And none other than Jason Bateman and plenty of Ozark cast are included in the stream, which means another major season four update could be on the way – will they drop any information on what can we expect Marty in the series finale?
Meanwhile, several theories have emerged as to how Ozark Season 4 will play out, from Jonah betraying her parents to Ruth reuniting with the Byrdes after her Season 3 spillover.
One thing that is certain in season four is that Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey) will not return alive and well. Ben was handed over by Wendy to Nelson (Nelson Bonilla), a hitman loyal to the Navarro Cartel, in Season 3. Although fans never witnessed his murder, they can clearly imagine what his fate was.
Of course, since the body has never been shown to viewers, one wonders if it is still alive. Showrunner Chris Mundy has spoken publicly to confirm that besides Ben and Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), many other people who crossed Byrdes’s path are not coming back either.
