This new teen series is a continuation of the movie released in cinemas in the Netherlands in 2017 entitled Misfit: the Series. The movie starred successful singer and YouTube artist Djamila, who has more than 1.4 million subscribers on her youtube channel.
When Netflix saw the movie hit in the Netherlands, the streaming platform with the red logo was quick to contact the movie crews to offer them to make a series on the same theme and keeping the same backstory, as well as the same main players.
In this teen series, we find Julia (played by Djamila) who plans to organize a major comedy in her high school with her friends. However, their plan will be jeopardized by the arrival of a new principal who prevents them from carrying out their project. But Julia will do everything to find a solution and get around the ban on the new headmistress.
As the show’s first season ends with a wacky show and then Lisa’s forgiveness for turning out to be responsible for the great betrayal, we wonder if Season 2 of Misfit: the Series will be released soon on Netflix.
As of yet, the streaming giant hasn’t made any official announcements about it, so we don’t know if there will be Season 2 of Misfit: the Series anytime soon on Netflix. It will depend on the audiences achieved by the musical fiction.
Indeed, if the series meets with great success in the days following its going online, season 2 of Misfit: the Series will certainly be renewed, but it is still too early to know for sure.
