They appear to be having a fantastic time together after getting past the initial awkwardness of the scenario. The date, however, ends in tragedy, as Josh is unable to overcome his pessimism.
He then apologizes for his actions by leaving a voicemail message on Emily’s phone. As the episode comes to a close, Josh completes the journey he’s been on all season.
COVID-19 will most likely continue to have an impact on Mr. Corman’s life in season 2. Josh and Emily could start dating if they can get past the fallout from their catastrophic first date. Victor may decide at some point that he has to rent an apartment so that his daughter has more space when she visits him. Josh will continue to struggle with anxiety, but it will become easier over time.
