WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR SEASON 5 OF ON MY BLOCK ON NETFLIX?
On My Block Season, 4 premiered on Netflix on October 4, 2021, a few months later than the typical March release date. Season 4 picks up on the events two years after the last time we reunited with Monsé, Ruby, Jamal, Jasmine, and the others, who have now taken different paths. Unfortunately, On My Block will not return for season 5 and will stop after season 4.
The series was not officially canceled, but the plot has concluded since the protagonists have completed their high school education and are going on to the next stage of their lives.
WILL THERE BE A SPIN-OFF AT ON MY BLOCK?
Yes! The world of On My Block continues! Netflix just revealed that the On My Block series will be renamed Freeridge and will follow a new core group of four characters.
This is incredible news. It’s a shame that we don’t see Monse, Jamal, Cesar, Ruby, Jasmine, and Oscar in Freeridge, but their stories have been told. At least we can see what’s coming next for this world and these new characters.
We should see a relatively short delay between the end of On My Block and the release of Freeridge on Netflix. At the earliest, Freeridge will likely be released on Netflix in fall 2022. We may have to wait until spring 2023.
