The highly anticipated series based on the novel of the same name, One of Us Is Lying, has finally arrived. The series has already received rave reviews from critics, and fans are eager to hear more. Based on the bestselling Karen M. McManus novel, the story follows five teenage boys from different cliques who enter detention together except that only four come out alive. WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR ONE OF US IS LYING SEASON 2?
The first season concluded on October 22, 2021. Currently, no renewal announcements have been made for Season 2 of One Of Us Is Lying. Season 1 ends with a cliffhanger which means the mystery is not completely solved and the central characters may not yet be completely out of danger.
The fact that the main antagonist is not clearly shown to be dead or alive also gives the feeling that the story is not over. Plus, characters like Janae, Maeve, and TJ seemingly have rich stories that have yet to be explored. They could very easily take on the role of the antagonist in Season 2. With an upcoming renewal, One Of Us Is Lying Season 2 release date should be set for late 2022!
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE FOLLOWING?
Season 1 ends with the revelation that Simon ingested a capsule containing the lethal peanut oil based on a challenge launched by Jake. While the former expected to be saved, the latter changed his mind and decided to let Simon perish so that he could trap his cheating girlfriend, Addy.
Incriminating evidence is eventually found on a video game console in Jake’s bedroom, but the boy is said to have run away. However, all four of the main suspects know the truth, which is that Jake accidentally died from a gunshot wound during a fight between him, Cooper, and Janae.
In the eventual Season 2 of One Of Us Is Lying, the Bayview Four can be expected to be haunted by Jake’s death, as it looks like someone is trying to blackmail them with that information. This will open up an uncomfortable Pandora’s Box as the characters will feel pressured and could once again begin to reveal the secrets of others.
With Jake seemingly out of the game, we can also look forward to a new antagonist who could be Janae, Maeve, and TJ, who were all close to the Season 1 mystery.
