The boy arrives at the store and thinks about stealing food. But he decides to head for the upper building to die on an empty stomach. In the latest episode of Platinum End, a boy tries to kill himself by jumping from the top of a building. He jumps up and wakes up in space, thinking he’s dead.
The boy believes that heaven and hell exist, and when he opens his eyes, he sees an angel saving him. He thinks the angel is sending him to heaven, and he’s okay with that. The angel looks at him and tells him that she is happy to have saved him in time. She reveals to him to be Mirai Kakehashi.
Mirai wonders what she’s talking about, and she tells him that he would have hit the ground and be dead if she hadn’t arrived in time. He realizes that they are still on earth and that she saved him, which means he is not dead.
Mirai tells her to let him die, and that she can let him down. An angel tells him that she is there to make him happy. She reminds him of what he said before he jumped and that he wanted to be happy. Mirai realizes he said that, but he has given up on life. Mirai realizes that something has haunted him since he was a child.
