The sequel to Crazy Rich Asians also has some creative hurdles to overcome. In September 2020, Golding said he had recently spoken to the Chu, and the sequel’s script was still unfinished. The brilliant cast has become more in demand, and they continue to work on other projects despite being under option.
However, Henry Golding’s comments indicate that the cast may not be too busy to fit Crazy Rich Asians 2 into their schedule. Director Chu has confirmed that we’ll be seeing more of the Astrid-Charlie relationship. Aside from that relationship, we’ll also see more of the current gold digger Kitty Pong.
