The shooting of the sixth season was greatly delayed by the health crisis. The actors were originally scheduled to reunite in May 2020 but eventually, filming began seven months later. A delay has therefore necessarily impacted the release date of Season 6 of Outlander.
The American channel which broadcasts the series has just confirmed that the broadcasting of the next episodes will begin on Sunday, March 6, 2022. To be forgiven the interminable wait, the first episode of season 6 of Outlander will be exceptionally long but we do not yet know the exact duration. Maybe the wait was worth it after all!
The script for the next season will be based on the sixth novel in the “A Breath of Snow and Ashes” saga and will resume immediately after the end of the fifth season. There will be no time jump. Claire and James will have to do everything in their power to keep the peace in their small colony in North Carolina.
