Boruto reveals that he is bored since they ran out of missions. He notices that Kawaki is not there and wonders if he is still sleeping. Hinata reveals that Kawaki has an urgent meeting with the Hokage, but is still sleeping.
She asks Boruto to wake him up. But Boruto thinks Himawari can wake Kawaki up. They play rock-paper-scissors about who will wake Kawaki up, and Boruto loses. Boruto sneaks into Kawaki’s room and realizes that Kawaki is sound asleep.
He uses an object like a stick to wake him up, but Kawaki snores. Kawaki regains consciousness and nearly hits Boruto, wondering if he intends to murder him. Boruto yelled at Kawaki when he fell asleep again. Kawaki walks into the Hokage’s office after waking up and wonders why they are calling him.
Naruto mentions Kawaki being a Shinobi, and Shikamaru believes Kawaki must complete their Academy and pass an exam before becoming a Shinobi. But because everyone has witnessed Kawaki’s abilities previously, they’ve chosen to assign him a D-rank Shinobi mission.
Naruto says that the D-rank missions are easier, revealing the skills of the participant. Shikamaru reveals that they will qualify him if Kawaki succeeds as Genin during the mission; Naruto adds that Kawaki will join Team 7 and do the mission with Boruto and the others.
