Kate, Clint’s family, and Clint himself are all at risk as a result. Surprisingly, a particular Rolex watch seems to be at the center of this conflict. In the fourth episode, while bickering over their status as partners, Clint and Kate try to find the watch, a Rolex, but then who owns it?
WHO OWNS THE ROLEX IN HAWKEYE?
The Rolex watch may have been found in the ruins of the Avengers complex, but it does not appear to have belonged to any Avengers. There is no reason for Hawkeye and his wife Laura to know much about a Rolex watch that once belonged to Tony Stark, and Hawkeye’s description of its owner, that he retired and has his identity attached. on the watch makes no sense.
STEVE ROGERS
In fact, only one Avenger has retired: Steve Rogers. However, the main problem with this theory is that there is no reason for the Kingpin to want the watch. Hawkeye introduced the Kingpin as Echo’s uncle, the head of organized crime in New York City, and he would not be interested in Captain America’s secret identity. It is rather logical to assume that the Rolex watch belonged to someone who became a particularly painful thorn in the King’s side.
NICK FURY
Nick Fury is one candidate. Hawkeye and Nick Fury appeared to be good friends, with Fury carefully guarding Clint Barton’s family. Fury disappeared from circulation in the wake of the Winter Soldier, operating in the shadows. But even this theory doesn’t quite work. There is no evidence that Nick Fury ever crossed paths with the Kingpin, and since he’s out of the world he wouldn’t face immediate threats if the Kingpin found out who he really is.
DAREDEVIL
Another possibility is that this is a preparation for the MCU’s Daredevil. Marvel has confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil in the MCU. Daredevil has traditionally been one of the Kingpin’s biggest enemies, and the MCU’s Daredevil may have pulled out after things got too hot in New York City.
Maybe Hawkeye ran into him at one point or another during his rampage in the city as Ronin, learning the former vigilante’s secret identity and promising to keep it, the Rolex meaning it in some way. . In the meantime, the timing of this twist is interesting given long-standing rumors that Charlie Cox will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home!
LAURA
It could also be that the connection is much more personal, that it is Laura, Hawkeye’s wife, which would explain why he owns it. Little is known about Laura’s story at this time, but she is clearly aware of the Rolex and comfortable with espionage. It is likely that Laura was an agent of SHIELD before settling down with Clint and leaving the hero community.
