EXPLANATION OF THE END OF SEASON 1 OF THE BLUE PERIOD
The dialogue between Yatora and Yotasuke during the last day’s lunch break was one of the episode’s highlights. It was heartwarming to watch Yatora’s joy at Yotasuke receiving his painting and hearing from this comrade that he had improved. Finally, he decides on Tokyo University of the Arts as his college of choice.
When Yotasuke broke, he pulled away from Ya-kun, which was a welcome break, but he really got closer to him. For a loner like Yotasuke, the prospect of having a true friend must be enticing. And Yatora, who is so unlike him and so open, might be the only person he can trust to accomplish it.
Unfortunately, just these two lads were admitted into the base group. Haruka and, shockingly, Maki are not accepted. His talent and finesse are unquestionably “conventional” in comparison to what Geidai is seeking. Maki has been influenced by artists her entire life and has spent a long time honing her craft.
This moment’s backlash is what it is. Maki’s first reaction is disbelief, followed by outright anguish. Yatora is stumped, but many around him have figured it out. Saeki assisted him in realizing that this was his destiny, and Ooba provided him with the support he needed to succeed. Professors are rarely honored with such eloquence and power as they are in Blue Period.
Although this adaption served as a prologue, the true story begins at this moment. It’s exasperating to watch this loop play out over and over while still feeling hungry. However, Blue Period comes to an end or at least appears to. The season brought a story to a satisfying end.
