DEMON SLAYER SEASON 2 EPISODE 15 END EXPLANATION
Fans of the dark-fantasy series probably already know that demons can die after being exposed to sunlight. However, the other way to get the job done is to decapitate the demons using the Nichirin Blades. But by now, some of the twelve Kizuki have found innovative ways to avoid dying this way.
Daki and his brother Gyutaro hold High-Rank Six. Not only do they have the same ranks, but their lives are also intertwined. So even if Tengen beheads Daki, she doesn’t die because her brother is still alive, and as long as one of them lives, both demons can’t die.
Gyutaro does not die in Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 15. We see Tanjirou about to slit his throat at the end of the episode. However, before that, he is also hit with a wisteria-mining laced blade making his survival even more difficult. For now, there are two possibilities: either Tanjirou manages to decapitate the demon, or Gyutaro stops him somehow.
The episode gives an important clue when Tengen tells his companions that the only way to kill the brother-sister duo is to behead them both at the same time. As Zenitsu and Inosuke are unable to simultaneously slit Daki’s throat just as Gyutaro is beheaded, the demon’s survival is almost guaranteed.
