FIND ALL THE NEWS ABOUT SEASON 3 OF FBI MOST WANTED!
We now know how the third season of FBI: Most Wanted will replace Julian McMahon, who is leaving the show.
According to a new report from Deadline, Dylan McDermott is transferring from another Dick Wolf show, Law & Order: Organized Crime, to take over as the new lead here. According to a Deadline report, he will make his first appearance when episode 17 breaths of air in April. There are no details about his character as of this writing.
So, what does this mean for McDermott’s role as Richard Wheatley in the future? On Organized Crime, that character was never supposed to be around full-time. He was so popular that he was reintroduced for another arc this season, but that will eventually come to an end. Given that the FBI franchise is technically set in the same universe as Law & Order and One Chicago, it’s a little strange that he’s jumping over to another Wolf series in a completely different role so soon. That is confirmed by Hailey Upton’s appearance on the flagship FBI show. (However, we don’t expect the writers to explain why this new character resembles Wheatley so closely.)
Even though the fourth season of Most Wanted has yet to be officially ordered by CBS, we assume Dylan will be front and center. We believe they want to establish all three of their FBI shows as Tuesday night tentpoles, so we expect all three to be renewed for more episodes shortly.
