The main question we’ll be thinking about as we prepare for The Blacklist season 9 episode 10 is all about Vandyke. We know he’s the one who killed Liz Keen, but we don’t know how he tracked her down.
This is the point at which we return to Cynthia Panabaker. Is she going to play a bigger role in the story as it progresses? Can we expect her to play a role as a Big Bad, and could she be the one who hired Vandyke?

Without a doubt, all of this is an intriguing proposition for a variety of reasons. Think of Panabaker as a character from the TV show Burn Notice who had it out for Liz. She also appeared to be fine with completely burying the Blacklist project. That could indicate that she has a motive to simply kill Reddington or Liz to move on more quickly. Panabaker is a fan of power, as she is now a Senator. She could also be the one plotting Cooper’s demise through the ruse that is being perpetrated against him.
Things start to get a little tangled at this point. Can we believe that Panabaker is a villain? Yes, but it’s difficult to imagine her hiring Vandyke at the same time. How would she track him down, let alone trust him to do the job she needs to be done? We are currently finding it difficult to respond to this question.
Regardless of where her story goes from here, we have a hard time believing we’ve reached the end of her season’s story…
