IS THE FAME GAME BASED ON A REAL-LIFE STORY?
The Fame Game, unfortunately, is not based on a true story. Sri Rao conceived of this fictional series in order to create a show that depicted the complexities of stardom in Bollywood. Rao’s goal as a Bollywood fan was to depict the lives of actors or stars behind the scenes, unseen by the public eye.
As part of its fictional narrative, the series addresses a number of real-life Bollywood issues. Using a hard-hitting narrative, the series depicts the inequality between male and female actors, as well as ageism and sexism in the entertainment industry. Even though the main mystery is fictitious, the world created by Sri Rao to house the fictional narrative is very real, making the series authentic and intriguing.
Anamika Anand and Manish Khanna are based on fictional characters, not real people. The two protagonists of the series, like the narrative, are made up.
