The series is so entertaining to watch that we are saddened that it is coming to an end. Read on if you have any questions about the end of episode 9 of The Legend of Vox Machina!

IS DUKE VEDMIRE STILL ALIVE?
Duke Vedmire can’t believe his eyes when the Vox Machina pushes back the undead army. While watching his team’s defeat, he stammers a few words that sound unthinkable and incomprehensible. Meanwhile, Percy uses his pepper gun to shoot Vedmire in the leg.
Vedmire’s name, however, is not on Percy’s list. So he departs, leaving Vedmire in the care of the Whitestone commoners. As they huddle around him, each with their weapon, one gets the impression that Vedmire’s future is bleak. Scanlan’s attack has already weakened him, even though he appears to have superhuman strength.
We don’t think he’ll survive the wrath of the people of Whitestone after suffering a leg injury. As a result, we conclude that he dies in the scene, thus paying poetic homage to Archibald’s death.
EXPLANATION OF THE END OF VOX MACHINA LEGEND EPISODE 9
Vox Machina and Cassandra enter the De Rolo mansion through a backdoor at the end of episode 9. This door leads to the dungeon, which also functions as a prison. From a prison cell, they hear a voice promising to take them to Briar Woods. They discover an elderly woman, probably in her sixties, by lighting the cell.
As Percy points his gun at the woman, Vax rushes to pick the lock. We don’t know his true identity because Episode 9 ends on a cliffhanger. However, because the story closely follows “Critical Role,” fans know that this woman is Anna Ripley in disguise.
In the original story, Ripley, one of the main scientific inventors working for the Briarwood, is Percy’s nemesis. Anna Ripley has been attempting to replicate Percy’s gun technology for a long time but has lost a hand in the process.
