The story shifts away from Yuji Itadori and focuses on Yuta Okkotsu. Yuta mourns the death of his childhood friend Rika Orimoto, who later becomes a cursed spirit. Later, Yuta’s existence is discovered by our beloved Satoru Gojo, who takes him under his wing. WHEN WILL JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 BE AVAILABLE ON CRUNCHYROLL?
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in theaters on March 13, 2022. At the moment, no release date for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been announced. French law prohibits movies released in theaters from being released on streaming platforms too soon after they are released in theaters.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 should thus be available on Crunchyroll within a few years, most likely in 2024. It depends on the streaming platform; Netflix, for example, requires a 15-month wait, while Disney Plus requires a 17-month wait and Canal+ requires a 6-month wait. We don’t know how long it will take for Crunchyroll, but it will most likely take between a year and a half and two years.
However, another trick for animated movies, such as Demon Slayer, is to divide it into several episodes with additional content, allowing it to circumvent the rule because it was no longer considered the same program. This could be a practice run for Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which could push its Crunchyroll release date to late 2022, though this is unlikely.
WHAT IS THE STORY ABOUT?
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is expected to closely follow the source material, much like the main series anime. The manga’s plot revolves around Yuta Okkotsu, whose childhood friend Rika was killed in a car accident. Rika returns to haunt Yuta in the form of a powerful but uncontrollable curse, attracting the attention of Jujutsu wizards such as Saturo Gojo.
As Yuta is about to wish for her death due to the curse and the harm she is causing others, Gojo offers the adolescent the opportunity to enroll as a freshman at Jujutsu High School. This is where Yuta can learn to control his curse and turn it to his advantage.
Yuta’s time at school will be the focus of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in which he learns to control his power and overcome his shyness by befriending his first-year classmates, Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 may have a different protagonist than Yuta, but its story is both unique and familiar in the “Jujutsu Kaisen” universe.
In addition, the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie will feature the same dark fantasy setting and awesome anime action sequences as the main series.
