WHAT IS THE DISNEY PLUS RELEASE DATE FOR TURNING RED 2?
On March 11, 2022, Turning Red was released. There have been no renewal announcements regarding the release of Turning Red 2 on Disney Plus as of yet. During an interview, however, director Domee Shi stated that she was not committed to the release of Turning Red 2 but that talks had begun.
Lindsey Collins, the show’s producer, also expressed a desire to “hang out with these characters again.” The movie appears to be a success now. As a result, we believe there is a good chance that a sequel to Turning Red will be released. In the event of a renewal, we believe Turning Red 2 will be released on Disney Plus in 2024.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE RESULT OF THE TURNING RED?
By the end of the movie, Mei has successfully balanced her two lives, even going so far as to openly embody parts of her red panda form in public with her friends.
The fact that Mei is still comfortably ensconced in her red panda form, and that her family has begun to reconsider the once-horrible idea of transforming into a panda, provides a rather optimistic foundation for a Turning Red sequel.
That being said, there are still a lot of unexplored elements in the red panda story that could certainly feed into Turning Red 2 or a spin-off in some way. There are also elements of Mei’s civilian life, whether with 4*Town or the trials of adulthood.
