Get everything you need to know about Kristen Hager!
Kristen Hager is leaving Chicago Med after less than a half-season as Dr. Stevie Hammer. While we are aware that this show is renowned for its arrivals and departures, even so, this one feels a little rushed.
For the time being, all we can say is that there do not appear to be any immediate plans to bring Dr. Hammer back. Is it still possible? Sure. According to Variety via One Chicago Day, executive producer Andrew Schneider had the following to say about the subject:
“She is an exceptional actor. We believed we had concluded her story regarding her mother, but we’d love to have her back… And the wonderful thing about the ‘One Chicago’ series is that if a character is still alive, he or she can return.”
Meanwhile, fellow EP Diane Frolov stated that “what is happening with Stevie right now is that she is returning to try and reconnect with her husband and make that work.” As a result, we’re leaving that open. Is that true? She is a character who may return.”
It now makes sense why Jessy Schram was reintroduced to the series as Dr. Hannah Asher, as she fills a role left vacant by Stevie’s departure. This season has been particularly tumultuous for the NBC drama in terms of cast changes. Consider this: Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta both left the show at the end of last season, and Brian Tee has made only sporadic appearances. There are now only a few regular actors who have been on Chicago Med since the show’s inception. Hopefully, some of them will remain for an extended period.
What are your thoughts: Will you miss Stevie if she is permanently removed from Chicago Med?
