Get Everything you need to know about Killing Eve!
What is happening on the spin-off front in the aftermath of BBC America’s Killing Eve series finale this weekend? Is it possible to see multiple shows set in the same universe?
The only thing we can say with certainty, at least for the time being, is that a prequel starring a younger version of Carolyn is in development. Beyond that, however, the situation is a little more mysterious. That show may not take place, and it is entirely possible that others will.
Executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle did not confirm the existence of any spin-off in a new interview with Deadline. Rather than that, she simply stated that they are considering multiple possibilities and will see what happens:
Of course, we’re thinking about it, and there is a lot of sort of, a lot of options for them, but there are no firm plans for anyone yet. In season four, we’ve eliminated some undesirables. There are numerous people… If we had been cynical, I believe we would have saved a lot more of them…
Personally, we’d rather have a sequel than a prequel, primarily because the former raises a lot more questions. With that said, we’re not sure we’re going to get either following the finale’s lukewarm reception. The primary grievance here appears to be Villanelle’s death, whether it was the manner in which it occurred or the fact that fans only saw a few minutes of her and Eve together before gunshots rained down from the sky.
Do you believe there will be any spin-offs set in the world of Killing Eve?
