The Killing Eve season finale has now concluded on AMC+, and it feels fair to say that it delivered everything we could have hoped for. Additionally, it will leave us emotionally exhausted for an extended period soon.

Without further ado, let us simply remove the bandage and declare Villanelle’s death. She was assassinated shortly after she completed her mission of eliminating the majority of The Twelve and following a series of romantic moments between herself and Eve. It was obvious for a long time that these two would eventually move in this direction, and they did! Regrettably, shortly afterward, Eve’s entire world came crashing down. Even though Jodie Comer’s character has departed, a sizable portion of Sandra Oh has remained. This is not the Eve from the pilot; in fact, we have no idea what sort of Eve will survive.
As if losing Villanelle wasn’t enough of a shock, the series finale also revealed another major twist: Carolyn appears to be the mastermind behind it all. Her use of the phrase “jolly good” on the phone following Villanelle’s shooting is a pretty clear indication that she ordered the hit and may have been leading The Twelve the entire time. After all, we know she was present at the start and that this final assassination could be her way of reclaiming the organization.
