EXPLAINED ENDING OF OUTLANDER SEASON 6 EPISODE 5
Following his meeting with Governor Martin, Lord John speaks with Jamie about Jamie’s commitment to the Crown. Jamie tells his friend, after initially lying to him, that he is going to join the Rebels and attend the Sons of Liberty meeting.
Jamie rushes to the meeting and informs the other members of the organization about the upcoming raid. With Jamie’s help, the Sons of Liberty can avoid arrest. Even though Jamie is a valuable asset to the organization, Cornelius Harnett, the organization’s leader, has reservations about Jamie after learning that he tried to save a loyalist printer from the rebels.
Jamie recognizes that the organization understands his concept of liberty, and he believes he can persuade them to listen to him again. Harnett and the other members may be hesitant to reject Jamie because he saved them from mass arrest. Harnett may see Jamie as a strong ally rather than a loyalist sympathizer as the Crown and Governors work hard to keep the opposition at bay.
Jamie and Claire prepare to leave Wilmington for Fraser’s Ridge after rescuing the Sons of Liberty members. Claire hears someone whistle a melody just before he sets out on his journey. The person behind the tune is revealed to be a British Army prisoner who also has a single Emerald Stone at the end of Outlander Season 6 Episode 5.
If he isn’t the thief, he must be involved in the robbery in some way because he has the missing emerald stone. Like Claire and Brianna, this person is most likely a time traveler. The tune he whistles is “Colonel Bogey March,” a British march written in 1914. He must be a time traveler because he whistles the same thing in 1773.
He could be Wendigo Donner, a Native American activist who travels back in time to stop Native Americans from being massacred. If not Wendigo, the person must be a new time traveler who has arrived in the New World with unknown intentions.
