Everyone who predicted that the Snowfall season 5 finale would be a tragic affair was, unfortunately, correct. Franklin Saint faces a slew of new challenges, and it’s unclear how he’ll overcome them at the time of writing.
Let us begin by reminding you that Damson Idris’ character made the difficult decision to part ways with Teddy at the end of episode 9. That was something he felt compelled to do at the time, especially since Louie was going to steal a large portion of his business in the first place.
Here’s where things get really bad: During this episode, Franklin discovered that Teddy had stolen a large portion of his fortune, implying that all of his plans had failed. He’s desperate to hold on to anything now that he’s in debt with his real-estate holdings and has lost any hope of running a clean business. We’re now in a position where this character will have to think creatively to dethrone Teddy, given that he has no financial advantage. He doesn’t even have Louie or Jerome to fall back on! Consider the end of the episode, when he told Kane she was to blame for what happened to him.
So Franklin seeks vengeance, his mother is collaborating with the KGB to stop Teddy, and he is at a low point in his life. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel for him? Let’s just say that Season 6 could provide a LOT of answers.
