Of course, the first order of business is to determine whether or not the anthology series will be renewed. Yes, we are! Season 2 has been announced for quite some time, but it will look and feel very different from season 1. The story of Uber and Travis Kalanick was the focus of this batch of episodes. Meanwhile, the upcoming season will reportedly focus more on Sheryl Sandberg and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook/Meta (whatever you want to call it).
Is this a story with potential? Perhaps, but we’re still unsure if it’s something that’s required. Because of The Social Network, which we understand came out years ago, there’s a huge cloud hanging over anything Zuckerberg-related right now. As a result, it’s easy to claim that there are new stories to be told based on his life, but is there still a strong demand for them? We believe the show’s performance will speak for itself.
In general, the plan for Super Pumped is for the show to focus on a different Silicon Valley or Silicon Valley-related story each year, and we’re hoping that this will result in some surprising and informative content. The only other concern we have at the moment is the sheer number of biopics and dramatizations available. Consider what we have now with The Dropout, WeCrashed, and a slew of other shows of this nature. They all draw big-name celebrities, but is the market already saturated?
We’re hoping to see Super Pumped season 2 sometime next year, but we’ll have to wait for any official details.
