Get Everything you need to know about The Resident season 5!
Is Dr. Ian Sullivan going to be a prominent new face at the end of The Resident season 5? That appears to be the case.
Let us now go ahead and share some of what we know. According to a new Deadline report, Pretty in Pink actor Andrew McCarthy will be recurring on the show as the character coming up. He’s been described as a “brilliant pediatric surgeon with an endless charm that conceals a hidden streak of narcissism.” He’s a hero to his young patients, but he has a complicated relationship with his daughter.”
McCarthy will currently recur, but there is an option for him to become a series regular if the show returns for a sixth season. Unfortunately, it has not yet been officially renewed or canceled, but we believe it will return.

McCarthy has most recently taken on the role of director on shows like The Blacklist and Orange Is the New Black. We’re surprised to see him take on a major acting role like this full-time at this point, but it could be something that he enjoys. One of the things we’ve seen The Resident excel at overtime is developing and cultivating stories for a variety of fascinating people. They make certain that their doctors and nurses aren’t all the same; this way, they can all stand out from the crowd in their unique way.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to see McCarthy make a significant impact on the show sooner rather than later. Why not give us a good introduction right now?
