Get Everything you need to know about This Is Us season 6!
If you’re disappointed that there hasn’t been much of a Miguel story on This Is Us season 6, don’t worry: there will be.
We know the writers have kept us all waiting for more on this character for a long time, and we can understand why. He wasn’t as well-liked in the beginning, mostly due to no fault of his own. Many viewers felt the same way early on as the character struggled to measure up to Jack in the eyes of the Big Three. However, we’ve grown to admire the man and wish we knew more about how he and Rebecca met years after he left for a job opportunity in Houston.
In a new interview with Glamour, Jon Huertas thankfully mentions that Miguel will be getting a lot of attention, including an episode dedicated to him:
The timeline between when Miguel left for Houston and when he returned…it was a long time, eight years, so I knew that. Then there’s dating, and then there’s marriage, so I knew it was only ten years, but it wasn’t nearly enough. I wish we had more time to spend with Miguel and Rebecca. We’ve already shot a lot of material, and we’re currently wrapping up an episode called “Miguel” in which we see a lot of Miguel and Rebecca alone. It’s lovely, it’s lovely.
In this interview, Huertas also mentions that you’ll see an older version of Miguel than the one we have now, but he doesn’t go so far as to say we’ll see him at Rebecca’s bedside years down the road. On that, we’ll have to wait and see.
