JOHN WAYNE GACY: WHO IS HE?
John Wayne Gacy is a convicted serial killer and sex offender from Chicago, Illinois. Wayne Gacy assaulted and murdered at least 33 young men in Cook County, Illinois, between 1972 and 1976. It’s here where you can find out what happens to Jeffrey Rignall, Steve Nemmers, and Carole Hoff.
He claimed to have committed all of his murders at his home near Norridge, Chicago, Illinois, as heard in the John Wayne Gacy series. He enticed his victims to his home and subjected them to rape and torture before murdering them.
A total of 26 victims were discovered in his home’s crawl space, with three more discovered elsewhere on the property. Four were discovered in the Des Plaines River, which is nearby.
Gacy earned the moniker “The Killer Clown” through his work as a clown, visiting children’s hospitals and performing at charity events.
In January 1972, John Wayne Gacy murdered his first victim, 16-year-old Timothy McCoy. As depicted in the series, John Wayne Gacy’s victims were frequently enticed by the promise of a job at PDM, a drink or lodging offer, or cash for sex.
He divorced his second wife, Carole Hoff, in 1976 and went on a two-year killing spree, killing 30 other men.
However, he was not apprehended by Des Plaines police until December 21, 1978, in the aftermath of the disappearance of 15-year-old Robert Priest.
WHAT HAPPENED TO JOHN WAYNE GACY TODAY?
John Wayne Gacy is no longer alive today. He was executed by lethal injection on May 10, 1994, at the Stateville Correctional Center.
Despite a scheduled execution date of June 2, 1980, John Wayne Gacy spent 14 years on death row. He filed numerous appeals while on death row, all of which were denied.
