Get Everything you need to know about Why did Kenedi Anderson leave American Idol!
Why did Kenedi Anderson exit American Idol in its twentieth season? We are aware that there is already some confusion surrounding this. She was considered a favorite to make it close to the end at one point, but the gifted teenager was not eligible for voting due to her top 24 finish in Hawaii.
Finally, host Ryan Seacrest explained the situation in the studio, noting that Kenedi opted out of the show due to “personal reasons.” Following her performance, she made this choice, and the producers behind the scenes decided to air what they shot.
The following is what production company Fremantle Media had to say about her decision in a statement to TVLine:
“While we are disappointed to see Kenedi depart, we are looking forward to watching this celebratory 20th season unfold with the incredible talent competing to be the next American Idol.”
Anderson is not the first contestant to abruptly exit American Idol, and she is unlikely to be the last. We’ll let you know if she chooses to speak out further about this, but she, like so many other contestants, should have the opportunity to shape their future. Producers can cut singers at virtually any point, so why would she not want to leave whenever she feels is appropriate? We understand that the show provided her with an incredible opportunity, but her continued participation in it on a long-term basis must be a two-way street.

The good news for American Idol is that they still have a large number of talented contestants remaining, and as long as the majority of the remaining singers choose to stay, they should be fine. Not only do they retain a chance to win, but they also have the opportunity to continue building their platform.
