We must admit that after viewing the first promo following episode 11 tonight, we are extremely concerned. As soon as Rosemary made it clear that she was going to tell him about her pregnancy, he rushed into the saloon upon realizing that it was on fire.
Lee’s desire to become a hero is unsurprising, but this would be a terrible, tragic end to his journey.
In light of this, we do not believe that Lee will die. In the world of Hope Valley, we’ve already witnessed Elizabeth become a widow; we don’t need to see it happen to another character.
We believe this is all a distraction designed to make you anxious, which we do understand on multiple levels. This is, after all, a drama!
Longtime Hearties are likely aware that this is not the first time we’ve been concerned about Lee’s fate; he has survived some perilous situations in the past, so we tend to believe he can survive this one as well.
Keep in mind that he has a great deal of support, from Faith at the infirmary and the community members who adore him. It is reasonable to be concerned, but we will not yet press the panic button.
It is also important to note that Smith has yet to comment on his long-term future with the show. As long as this holds, we will not be overly concerned.
