As the third and final season of the show was just released on Netflix this week, the following article naturally contains numerous spoilers for the conclusion. Read this to determine whether or not a fourth season will be produced.
It appears that each season has provided a unique explanation for Sara’s untimely demise. Given the series’ incredible turns and twists from beginning to end, it’s not surprising that Who Killed Sara Season 3 also featured shocking turns.
But let’s answer the question posed by the series title, the question we’ve all been pondering since the series’ inception. Who killed Sara? And has she died? Spoilers!
IS SARA DEAD? SPOILERS!
Lucia, daughter of Sara, briefly escapes Reinaldo’s facility and meets Alex for the first time before being taken hostage by the scientist’s murderous henchmen.
Alex decides to go on the offensive and attacks the Medusa compound with an arsenal of weapons. There, he rescues Lucia and encounters Reinaldo, whom he murders. In addition, he learns that Sara passed away shortly after giving birth to his daughter.
Rodolfo is shot and killed during Medusa’s attack. Caesar eventually confesses his crimes, including the murder of Sara’s father, Abel Martinez, and is arrested. Alex discovers Sara’s grave behind the hospital and notifies the police.
The series concludes with Alex, Elisa, Chema, and Lucia observing the police excavating a vast graveyard behind the Medusa Center as the mystery is finally solved.
For the majority of Season 3, it appears that Sara is still alive. When Alex finally meets Reinaldo face-to-face, Reinaldo reveals to him the tragic conclusion to Sara’s story. Reinaldo tortures her for years at the Medusa Center while attempting to develop a treatment for schizophrenia.
Sara concludes that the only way to harm her sadistic captor would be to commit suicide, which would hinder her search. In the final moments of the season, Reinaldo witnesses Sara committing suicide by self-inflicted knife wounds.
However, contrary to popular belief, Sara did not die in the parachute accident and died much later after giving birth to her daughter.
IS REINALDO DEAD?
Reinaldo is not the only antagonist of the previous season. But also the antagonist of the entire series plot. Reinaldo does not even spare his children, keeping his daughter imprisoned for years at the Medusa Center.
All of this suggests that Reinaldo will likely meet a tragic end, and so it transpires. Alex ultimately straps Reinaldo to his sadistic instruments and electrocutes him until he is dead.
Behind his facility, a vast graveyard is uncovered, revealing hundreds of victims whom the sadistic scientist likely tortured to death.
