What’s more exciting is how horror can contest our assumptions, upend the storyline we think is about to unfold, or completely upend it, leaving us speechless at the end.
Season 3 of Evil, created by Robert and Michelle King and broadcast on Paramount+ and Salto in France, practically revels in subverting what we expect to happen, and the result is still deliciously terrifying.

WHAT WAS THE END OF THIS WEEK’S EPISODE?
The mysterious entity posing as Kristen greets David in the episode’s final moments. She then has forced sex with David, who notices Sister Gertrude watching him from a corner of the room. The episode concludes with a strong implication that a demon is impersonating Kristen and sleeping with David.
Although no information is provided about the demon’s true nature, it is most likely motivated by lust and desire. As a result, the demon David sees could be an Ifrit, the same one who possessed Kristen for the majority of Season 2.
Sister Andrea confirms in the Season 2 finale that David is one of the few people who can see demons. David’s sighting of Sister Gertrude appears to support his theory about the experience. However, it is unknown how the two demons are related.
