EXPLAINED ENDING OF LOVE & ANARCHY SEASON 2
When things become tense or complicated, it’s easy to flee or deny them. Sofie flirted with Max when things were going well around her, but she pushed him away early on because she was traumatized by her father’s death.
It is sometimes not the sharing of our joys or victories that brings us closer to our loved ones, but the ability to share our sorrow, pain, and insecurities.
Max not only ended his relationship with Caroline, but he also left his job at Lund & Lagerstedt after numerous attempts to help Sofie cope with her grief.
Sofie, on the other hand, extends her hand to Max after making peace with her father.
Max made it clear to her at that point that he was tired of being used as a toy that she tried to kick out when things got tough and accepted when things returned to normal. Sofie must decide whether she is ready to publicly accept Max and integrate him into her life.
When Max sees Sofie standing with this sign in front of a store at the end of Season 2 of Love & Anarchy, he finally forgives her.
Unlike the series’ opening sequence, which showed Sofie and Max hiding their relationship in a public restroom, the closing shot showed the two sharing a fuck in public, unconcerned about what society would think of their relationship or their age difference.
However, even though Sofie had also decided to make Max a part of her public life, there still is a long way to go before people around them accept their relationship.
