This morning, star/executive creator Seth MacFarlane revealed on Twitter that this episode will feature a look at Yaphit, voiced by none other than the delayed Norm Macdonald.
We know the comedian registered all of his lines before passing away, but it wasn’t clear how many episodes we’d get from this character.
Yaphit is one of many great supporting characters on this show, especially given his distinct visual presence as well as a source of comedic fodder. This is one of the most inventive aliens we’ve encountered on the ship.
Yaphit has also proven to be quite useful in several missions! That is common when your body is a gelatinous mass that can transform into whatever you require at any given time.
So, what else do we know about episode 5 of Season 3? The title is “A Tale of Two Topas,” and the trailer strongly suggests that we’re entering Indiana Jones territory.
Consider an ancient temple that could be full of unexpected discoveries. There’s a chance for many of the crew to leave the ship for a while, and we’ll have to wait and see what awaits them.
We’ll also have to see how Ed Mercer reacts to the events of “Gently Falling Rain,” arguably one of the show’s best stories ever. It’s one thing to be aware that you have a daughter; it’s quite another to realize that you will never see her again.
