EXPLAINED: A PERFECT MOTHER SEASON 1 ENDING!
The truth is revealed at the end of Season 1 of The Perfect Mother when Sophie, Anya’s friend, comes clean. Following Kamal’s death, she approaches Vincent and tells him about Sophie’s plan to blackmail Damien. It turns out that this was not his first rodeo either.
She and Sophie cornered and blackmailed a college professor a few months ago. Anya intended to use the funds to assist the center financially.
She seduces him one night, and when they are alone at his house, she takes drugs. She threatens to call the cops, believing that this will frighten Damien. But she quickly realizes that she had underestimated him.
Damien is fed up with blackmail and resorts to violence. He raps her, and Anya stabs him with a knife in her attempt to save herself.
Anya calls Kamal, who has no idea she killed Damien. He enters the building through the roof and tends to his injuries, but he becomes terrified when he realizes what has happened.
When the cops find Kamal, she tells him to flee. She tries to blame him and absolve herself of the situation. She succeeds at the end of Season 1 of The Perfect Mother.
Kamal is blamed for Damien’s death because he is no longer present to defend himself. It was Anya’s plan all along, but she didn’t expect Kamal to die while fleeing the cops.
She is also enraged that he concealed the fact that he was previously married and had a child. She makes no attempt to preserve her image. Things are better for her now that she is free.
Although Helene refuses to admit it, she cannot deny that her daughter is no longer the same innocent, perfect girl.
Anya has a vindictive and manipulative side that she is completely unaware of. And now she must contend with the fact that her daughter is a liar and a murderer, and that she is complicit in her crime because she concealed the truth from everyone.
